Description

The Andean Institute of Popular Arts (IADAP), of the University of Nariño, publishes the journal Mopa Mopa annually. Since its first edition in 1983, it has been linked to specific claims and sensitivities in plot with the expression of freedom and creativity of the popular, everyday arts, of living from our cultural, territorial-mental, invisible or invisible environments. Mopa Mopa is a space of literary and intellectual sociability where exchanges and confrontations of encounter and reunion at the intersection of social and intellectual trajectories are aroused, which allows the reader a relaxed reading. It is a place of resistance to options of development, scientificism and technithry that hate the elementary, the genius, "because they believe that peoples lack soul and spirit, that existence and life are only materiality" (Borges).

Discipline: Interdisciplinary Philosophy The journal Mopa Mopa is a means of dissemination of thought in its different modalities, related to the heterogeneous ways of being, feeling and thinking alter-native, produced to the heat of sociocultural and political processes in various local and regional contexts.

Approach and scope

The mopa Mopa magazine, in the manifesto of multicultural expression, aims to disseminate texts of both scientific and academic nature as intimate reflections and experiences ingrained in the feeling and being of the human life of the members of the Andean Institute of Popular Arts, among which are researchers, students and other people affiliated to the entity. Other sectors of knowledge production at the national and international levels also have a place. Therefore, scientific articles, dissertations, literary texts and so on will be received, covering the area of the Social and Human Sciences that provoke exchanges and confrontations of encounter and reunion at the intersection of social and intellectual trajectories, which allows the reader a relaxed reading.

Peer evaluation process

The evaluation of the articles will be carried out by peers (double-blind system) selected within or outside the IADAP, according to the area of knowledge of them, and will subsequently be approved through the Editorial Committee of the journal, who will respect the concept or concepts of the evaluators, to make a decision.

Process Description

The process that is followed for the selection of articles is:

1.Review of compliance with the requirements set out in the standards for authors. *In the non-compliance with the article these rules will be returned to the author to make the respective corrections.

2. If the article meets the requirements it refers to evaluation pairs.

3. The evaluators shall verify that the article complies with the characteristics of thematic quality and relevance with the philosophy of the journal, in order to issue its concept on the possibility of publication. In the event that the concept of peers is not unanimous (one of the evaluators recommends publishing the article and the other does not), the Editorial Committee will make a final decision based on the two evaluations.

4. Once the article has been approved for publication by the evaluators, the Editorial Committee of the journal evaluates the editorial quality of the article.  

5. If necessary, the article will be returned to the author to make modifications or adjustments suggested by the evaluator and the publisher or the article is permanently rejected. *Once this process is completed, notice is given to the authors of the final decision.

6. Finally, the article is sent to the style correction and diagramming processes.

Reproduction of the works published in the journal.

The reproduction rights of the articles published in the journal are co-owned by the journal Mopa Mopa and its authors. These documents can be reproduced freely for academic use, as long as no profit is obtained for this concept and each copy includes the journal's bibliographic reference. Reproduction of it for any other purpose, or its placement on any website requires the prior authorization of the publisher.
