It was identified that teaching the Krebs cycle at the university level presents certain difficulties. In order to face this challenge, a narrative-based teaching strategy was designed, which was implemented with first-semester medical students from the Fundación Universitaria San Martín de Sabaneta and undergraduate students in natural sciences from the Universidad de Antioquia. Information was collected about their prior knowledge about the cycle and their preconceptions about its difficulty. Likewise, after presenting the strategy to the students, two tests were carried out, which allow information to be extracted in terms of their appreciation of the teaching alternative and its usefulness in understanding the structure of the cycle. The results showed that it is a teaching alternative highly appreciated by the students and that it allows for their understanding of the cycle, achieving results on average that are close to 80% of correct answers in specific knowledge tests. Additionally, the students, in their great majority, perceive that they have sufficient knowledge about the cycle to explain it, with some exceptions, which may be the case of later studies.
