Myth and education in the culture of the Inkal Awá people

Abstract

The entry of schools in the territory of the Awa community is a short history encompassing just three decades. However, the education imparted has not taken into account, in its work with the children, the incorporation of cultural elements of the Awa community. Conversely, the use of Western educational models has left little space for their worldview and myth as tools that invite the communities to enter into a less traumatic conflict with their culture.
