The virtual support to tutorships in the educational system based on credits

The recent regulations in Colombia concertining the accomplishment of the quality standards and, specifically, the implementation of the policy of academic credits, establish that these serve to recognize the student’s autonomy in the knowledge acquisition and assign the teacher the role of a tutor as a function of accompaniment to the activities the student has to develop. The communication and interaction options offered by the virtual environments are favorable for the fulfillment of the plans and actions anticipated at the moment of the “face-to-face” and online relations between teachers and students in highlighted, and online relations between teachers and students is highlighted, and its accompaniment options and characteristics anticipated in the credits are analyzed. Later on, some tools and strategies of the virtual environments that can be used as a support for this new academic function under the modality of tutorships are presented.
